Title: Poisoner by Helene Torp © 7 min. Performance video. Dual portrait. Speaking In tongues. One of my early performative works. The film is about how people can go from playing to become violent and evil against ourselves. The film explores genes, emotions and determination. Exploring a play which starts with a joke.

Exhibited at several film festivals and galleries.

n the exhibition L o v e s p l a s h L i g h t l o v e we conduct our respective oeuvre into a common world and it is difficult to say who did what in the works. We open up to share freely of each other’s ideas – mine are yours, and “I am you”. Through the artistic practice we question ownership. Identity through ownership is being challenged by the exchange and trust. Our artistic practice deals with the idea of going from the head to the heart, therefore we have called the exhibition Love Splash light love, since it is both physical (splash), uplifting, humorous and positively loaded.
From the press release: In this collaborative project Torp & Liseth were inspired by each other’s previous work, and a genuine fused world and a new universe has arisen. Paintings and drawings with colorful occult and an spiritual environment, where fantasy and reality are put under the microscope. The work has all performative elements. Movement of energy – expression to set things in motion are articulated in different ways. Hege Liseth and Helene Torp have both background in animation, and the paintings could be read as extensions of each other when the visual elements move from frame to frame. The paintings are inspired by the mandala tradition of moving outward and inward a unifying center. Organic and liquid with a theme that not only amazes but questioning the mundane and rational environment as we know it. The work bears the stamp of play, curiosity and craftsmanship skills to the medium.

1-1-2 Tuning In From The Galaxy

1-1-2 Tuning In From The Galaxy deals with spirituality, the power of thought and ” the seeker ” who sees the world in a rather different way than mainstream.

The work displays a series of portraits of a woman in a daily life situation. Her name is Kari Hanne Nyland and she is a channel for spiritual energy and masters. She tells us she has chosen to use her life to spread the light and love of the world and raise the spirit in the collective field.

The work also consists of five soundstations, each with its own headset, and channeled symbols and texts drawn directly on the wall.

“Channeling … collective term for it to receive messages from another dimension or another real light level. Channeled message to be understood often as important knowledge transfers from beings with great insight into the factors that are hidden from ordinary people , especially to susceptible individuals. … The channeled knowledge can come from many sources … It may be knowledge from the Akashic Chronicle , a higher spiritual being or a deceased person ( spiritualism ). Privatlivets fred var et kunstprosjekt om personvern, frihet og integritet. Prosjektet var et samarbeid mellom Datatilsynet, Kunst i offentlige rom (KORO) og Rom for kunst, og presenterte fire kunstverk med personvern som tema. Verkene var valgt ut på bakgrunn av en idékonkurranse som ble holdt våren 2008. Juryens uttalelse kan du lese her.

Jury statement”Friends (Venner) is a video animation consisting of simple drawings and short everyday messages, where the content and form appear as a wonderful mix of public and private life. The artist examines how the abbreviated language of texts, Facebook and advertising infiltrates other communication. “Friends” walks a tightrope between
humour and an underlying serious message. In a world where a wrong keystroke can broadcast the most intimate details it is easy for the results to become confusing. The film is clever, playful and accessible.” Curated by Rom for kunst

Vi har alle noe vi ikke ønsker å dele med andre. Ikke fordi vi gjør noe ulovlig eller har noe å skjule, men rett og slett fordi vi vil være i fred. Personvern handler om at man har behov for å sette grenser for hvor nært innpå seg man vil slippe andre. Retten til privatlivets fred har en verdi som er vanskelig å måle. Mange av oss ser verdien først når personopplysninger er på avveie og vi føler at vår egen integritet trues.

The film won the competition, “Privatlivets Fred” (Private Life),
and was shown at Oslo Central station (Oct/Nov 2008), initiated by Koro (Public Art Norway), the Data Inspectorate and Rom for kunst Mesen.

Dette er mitt nye prosjekt, en slags idealisme i praksis. Jeg inviterer deg til å meditere hver morgen
i 21 dager kl. 06.00-06.30. Du blir med den tiden du har.
Hvorfor? Dette er en gave til jorda og deg, fordi meditasjon stilner sinnet
og gjør at du kan få tilganger til de dypere lagene av bevisstheten og jeg kan liste opp en
lang lang liste videre. Det viktigste er at du har lyst og vil gi denne tiden til enhet, å være i et felles “rom”
med andre som også vil sette av tid til dette.

This is my new project. Idealism. I invite you to meditate every morning
for 21 days at. 6:00 to 6:30. You stay with the time you have.
Why? This is a gift to the earth and you, because meditation stagnates the mind
and allows you to access the deeper layers of consciousness and I can list one
long long list on. The most important thing is that you want to give this time to unity, being in a common “room”
with others who also want to set the time for this. The meditations are in Norwegian, but you are free to participate regardless of language or background.
